The Florida Marlins shutout the Atlanta Braves by the score of 4-0 behind a great starting pitching performance by Scott Olson.  Olson pitched seven strong innings before handing the ball over to Renyel Pinto and Kevin Gregg who shut the door on the Braves in the eighth and ninth innings.

Olson only gave up five hits in his seven innings of action.  He struckout three batters and did not walk anyone.  With the victory he improved his record to 2-0.

Hanley Ramirez, Josh Willingham, and Mike Jacobs all had one RBI for the Marlins.

Mike Jacobs belted two homeruns as the Florida Marlins routed the Washington Nationals by the score of 10-4.  The Marlins scored seven runs in the 5th inning, and they never looked back in the game.

With Jacobs hitting two two-run homeruns, he led the team with four RBI’s.  Dan Uggla and Jeremy Hermida both had two RBI’s.  Jorge Cantu and Hanley Ramirez chipped in with one RBI each.

Scott Olsen pitched 7.2 innings to pick up the win.  He allowed four runs to cross the plate (three were earned) on four hits, four walks, and two strikeouts.  Olsen was a bit wild, but he was still pretty affective.

It was another exciting game for the Florida Marlins who kept on battling back and eventually beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-4 on a Mike Jacobs walk off homerun to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning.

I really like how the team kept battling back in the game to tie it up, and then eventually won it.  That shows alot of this young Marlins team.

Josh Willingham homered and Hanley Ramirez had three hits for Florida. Kevin Gregg pitched one scoreless inning for the win.
