The Florida Marlins lost to the Washington Nationals in a high scoring 9-6 game on Tuesday evening.  The Marlins and Nationals battled back and forth the entire game and this time it was the Nationals coming out on top for the victory.  The series is now tied at 1 game each.

Mark Hendrickson took the loss for the Marlins after pitching six innings and giving up ten hits and six runs.  Hendrickson had troubles keeping the ball in the field as he gave up two home runs in the game that accounted for five of the  six runs he was charged with.  Hendrickson is now 7-7 on the season.

Eulogio De La Cruz and Joe Nelson both gave up one run in relief before Logan Kensing was able to come in and finally pitch a scoreless ninth inning.

Hanley Ramirez had a huge night at the plate as he went 2-5 with five rbi in the game.  Ramirez had a three run home run, and then two seperate rbi singles in the game.  Alfredo Amezaga also chipped in with a rbi single of his own.

So now the Marlins will attempt to win the series on Wendesday as they two teams will play the rubber game of the three game series.

A brand new Florida Marlins Baseball Blog has hit the Internet!  Marlinshomeplate.Com will be blogging about the Florida Marlins starting in 2008 and will have new articles up every other day atleast.  Look for game reviews, marlins draft and trade rumors, and look to find some great deals on Marlins merchandise and tickets!

We are all hoping that the Florida Marlins can get things turned around.  It is going to be a tough season in 2008 I think however.  Losing Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis to the Detroit Tigers is really going to hurt this ball club.  Then there is always talk going on about the new baseball stadium.  Who knows if that will ever happen though.

No matter what though, we will be here blogging about the Marlins, and hope you choose to come back each and every day.  Please leave comments as well, as we love to hear other Marlins fans opinions!
